I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist working in private practice. I have over 25 years’ experience working with children and their families in District Health Board mental health services, charitable and private settings in New Zealand and the UK. I have experience as a clinical manager and supervisor, and have worked with families affected by parental substance use.
My experience in governance includes acting on the Executive of the New Zealand Association of Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists for 9 years, and have been an expert advisor for the Health and Disability Commission. I served as a practitioner member of the Board with the Psychotherapists Board of Aotearoa New Zealand (PBANZ), and continue to act as professional advisor to the Board.
My clinical experience includes work with a wide range of clinical presentations in children and adolescents, including depression, anxiety, developmental issues, attachment and family relationship issues, trauma and loss, addiction and compulsive behaviours, gender and sexuality issues. I offer assessment, support and advocacy, clinical supervision and child, adolescent, family and adult psychotherapy.
I am an ACC Sensitive Claims provider, an approved provider for Oranga Tamariki and the Ministry of Education.
The Gumboot Fund (I am Hope) provides short term funding for children and adolescents.
I hold a contract with Kenzies Gift, a charity which provides support for families experiencing cancer, serious illness or grief.
Right Service Right Time (RSRT) are also able to provide some funding for sessions, with a GP referral.
